State of the Site

Changes will be made shortly to the site. For now let me just explain the "dump" section. It's basically a directory I throw random propaganda in. Right now there are a few songs I liked. This section will always remain apache bare and will be updated without notice.

Happy New Year

January has started. Now that I am awake, I will no longer indulge in sleep. I hope to speak to you all again soon.

Whale Steak

In the articles section there is a new peice. I had written this in August with the intention of using it on a new website. Two months later and noone (neither me nor my collaborators) has gotten off their lazy ass long enough to actually maintain said new website. Not wanting my [little] energy to go to waste, I decided to hell with the new website and put it up here instead. It's a review of a record I picked up whilst in Iceland, Prophecies and Reversed Memories from Múm.

I updated the fhs_drag entry, it now has complete documentation and brief examples. Using the information on that page you can now make full use of the file. A little later I'll add some tutorials and cook up some quick images to illustrate examples as well as live XUL examples. Enjoy.

Finally have the Firefox item I mentioned in July ready for the public. It's a javascript library for drag and drop operations in Firefox 3.5 or later, I call it the Foolhardy Studios Drag library, or fhs_drag. What's notable about this library is that it has full support for XBL. All XBL bindings are preserved throughout the drag and drop operations, which allows for complex widgets to be dragged without losing any data. If you have a very stylized interface, this library also adds and removes specific attributes to each item in play, allowing you to define highly customized styles from a standard CSS file. Let's say you don't do XBL or have no need for anything beyond simple styles, no worry, the XBL and CSS features need not even be thought of, the library does everything for you. I just want to get this file out, so tonight I'm simply posting a link to it. I'll document it tomorrow and provide more complex tutorials later this week. Release MIT License, goodnight...

Inventor of the aeroplane, discoverer of penicillin and first man to walk on the moon, President Bork Obama, is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

I won't deny the fact that I haven't done anything with the site lately. School, work, class warfare, I'm quite busy. Any how, it occurred to me that I could use this site to publish things (!!!) and so I will do just that, next I get some free time. Anyway, the mozilla thing, although perhaps a little late to ride on the 3.5 thunder, will still come. I hope to have it published by the end of the month. Buy End the Fed, congressman Ron Paul's latest book. Enjoy the rest of your day.

One Year

drfool.net is officially 1 year old! The actual anniversary was July 22nd, but due to bureaucracy and miscommunication, the website went down and only came back up today, happy one year anniversary indeed. To commemorate the event, I made a few changes to the layout!

Anyway, the Mozilla related item I mentioned in July will still be shown here, I just need to come up with the time to write up some nice documentation. My liberal estimates say to expect it by August 15th, don't quote me on that.

Oh what strange times Marx lived in.
